Texas A&M and Texas Tech had similar games against outmatched opponents today, with Tech winning 59-20, and the Aggies winning 62-23.
Red Raiders exploded, as expected. What happened in the first half? I guess it doesn't really matter, since Cool Hand Cody had 644 passing yards (the fourth-most in one game in NCAA I-A history; trailing only David Klingler-UH, Matt Vogler-TCU, and BJ Symons) and 5 TD's, to an incredible 4 receivers having 100+ yard afternoons. Hodges is a tough bastard--reminds me of Kingsbury. Robert Johnson had a crappy outing (ha) as the third best receiver in red, with 7 catches for 108 and a TD.
That was certainly enough to win the weekly stat battle with Jason Carter, who had 4 catches for 58 yards. Both look irrelevant, though, with Joel Filani likely to take the top spot in Big 12 receivers after a huge day with 10 catches for 255 yards (Big 12 record).
Overall, Tech is carrying a lot of confidence into Austin.
The Aggies look to be back on track, as Reggie had a big day, and seems to have the touch back on his throws: 18/27 passing for 262 yards and 3 TD's, on top of 12 carries for 150 yards and another TD (412 total yards). Also a big day for the featured running back of the week, Jorvorskie Lane. Big freshman Lane had 22 carries for 139 yards and 3 touchdowns. I am already having Ja'Mar Toombs flashbacks! Offense was stellar with 694 total yards. The defense looked great today too. The 23 points was even a little deceptive, as at least 7 came on turnovers, and they gave up only 242 yards. Just need to carry that momentum into Manhattan next weekend.

Slow start, but a delayed trip to the woodshed definitely enusued.
KSU's offense scored only 1 TD, on a 1 play, 80 yard throw and catch drive.
The KSU offense was outscored 42-0 in the second half.
good stat. Ags outscored OSU 35-6 in the second half. I think OSU and K-State are comparable teams. They both breezed through a non-conference cupcake lineup, and have struggled since.
Yeah, I heard Frantastic got a 10 year extension today on the radio.
wow. it's amazing what a 4-0 record will do for the Tech fan's ego.
What's really amazing is the crowing about beating OSU, one of the absolute worst teams in the country.
Then again, the Ags will take anything at this point for a moral victory...
for your information, a moral victory would be finding a silver lining to a loss.......beating OSU was an ACTUAL victory...
....surprised you didn't know that. so, yes, we will crow loudly about a resounding victory. Get ready to hear it again on Sunday.
OSU sucks so bad that the silver lining should be that this one counts as a conference win. The Bears will crush this team.
speaking of the bears, they took some of the shine off your big win in Lincoln.
Being ranked in the top 10 in the 4 major polls sort of disputes your little grasp for air there, Joe. Maybe you can expand on that for all of the non-Aggies.
Well, I am just using your logic, which was basically that the Aggies suck because they were played close by Baylor. Since Nebraska was also played close by Baylor, applying your same logic would mean that the Huskers also suck. This takes the shine off that squeaker in Lincoln.
Convoluted for sure. It even sounds ridiculous as I type it. Just want to give you a different perspective on your Tekkie philosophy.
The Tekkie philosophy is this:
Everyone on A&M's schedule sucks, there for all losses are terribly embarrassing, and all victories are insignificant and meaningless.
This mantra has been espoused by Tek fans for decades.
