Texas A&M and the Seattle Seahawks have reached a settlement of the university’s lawsuit against the NFL franchise, the two sides announced in a joint statement Monday. Before the Super Bowl, A&M had sued to prevent the Seahawks from selling merchandise featuring the phrase the 12th Man, which the school owns the trademark for. The Seahawks will use the term only in the seven-state area in the Pacific Northwest that their games are broadcast to and will pay A&M a licensing fee, said Steve Moore, the school’s chief marketing officer.
