Not much of a game if you like the team that had the best uniforms this past Saturday, but that seems to be the norm in Norman - regardless if your name is Leach or Tuberville.
If anyone had told me in August that after 10 games, Tech would be ahead of Whorn in the standings, I would have been pretty excited. Who knew that a .500 record overall would be the measuring stick?
(...and being 3-5 in conference sucks)
Two games left. A couple of wins, and it appears a return to the Cotton Bowl is possible on January 1, although assuming anything this season is certainly not a safe bet.
(and to be more precise, the game featured at the Cotton Bowl on New Years Day is officially known as the Ticket City Classic)
One thing that's beneficial about moving the Whorn game up in the schedule is that you get a non-con late in the season. Tech needs one about now, and Leach was always pretty good at scheduling some one's JV. Let's just call this one a glorified practice in order to get ready for Coog High Thanksgiving weekend.
The whole team needs it - beginning at the top, and all the way down.

Tubs is walking in Leach's shoes? Well, I haven't heard Tuberville insult the Aggie Band or Corps of Cadets yet, so that might be a stretch.
You had me suckered in with the Cotton Bowl projection. Is it unstable that the Cotton Bowl is played at the Death Star, while another bowl game is now being played at the Cotton Bowl? What the hell is Ticket City? They should have called it the Dixie Classic.
That's for all of the "Leach did this" crowd that rails on Tubs every week. Make no mistake, however, Tubs needs some work himself. This team has been very disappointing thus far.
Leach never insulted anyone - he told the truth. Now, if the self-righteous aggys took something he said as an insult, that's on them, not Leach.
I'm a guy who generally likes Mike Leach, but I found this, among other things he said, to be insulting to men training to serve in our armed forces, who had accepted commissions as officers in the United States military. These kinds of comments were just meant to be demeaning to the Corps of Cadets, and help Leach gain favor with Tech fans who hate A&M.
“How come they get to pretend they are soldiers?” he asked. “The thing is, they aren’t actually in the military. I ought to have Mike’s Pirate School. The freshmen, all they get is the bandanna. When you’re a senior, you get the sword and skull and crossbones. For homework, we’ll work pirate maneuvers and stuff like that.”
First off, since you brought this up, you have to support all of this - inlcuding your statement"among other things he said". Otherwise, that's just a blanket statement which violates the Rooster Code.
It's meaningless unless you expand your thoughts, and list everything he (Leach) said.
Secondly, the Corps is not real military. It's a student organization. Why I must constantly remind aggy of this is beyond me. It's merely a step above ROTC.
True, some move on to our armed forces, and that's super. But until they wear BDUs and go through basic training, they're pretty much the same as ROTC at any other school.
Upon graduation, most anyone with a degree from any school can move on to OCS. (especially if you participated in ROTC)
Coming full circle, if aggy gets his camou panties in a wad when someone points out that the Corps is in fact not the real military, then it's just too bad. That's on aggy; not the messenger.
