A&M changed defensive coordinators after last season, replacing Carl Torbush with Gary Darnell, but that wasn't the first thing that Texas Tech coach Mike Leach mentioned Monday when asked about the reasons for A&M's improvement.
"Scheduling's been beneficial," Leach said. "I think smart scheduling."
Tech coach Mike Leach, when asked whether the team's loss to TCU could be beneficial based on what the team learned from it, wasn't too keen on the suggestion.
"I hope so," Leach said. "Everybody talks about how beneficial losses are. If they were so beneficial, everybody would lose 12 times and be real smart. I mean, whatever gets you through the night. It's nice of you to say. Maybe that's the case, so we'll go with that, because that's about all we have. We don't get to go play them again."

I like the post. The funny thing about leach is that he really is kind of a throwback in that he tells it like it is. He is not politically correct, media savvy, or particularly suave...but I must admit, there is some appeal there.
I would put him in the same category as Buddy Ryan or Jerry Glanville...and trust me, that is not an insult. The NFL was a better league when coaches were more colorful.
That being said, his offense is still the "run-n-shoot" and he is still a classless clown who will go 7-5 more often than not.

Too bad you can't support your last paragraph with actual facts. Heck, you can't even slip your Ags in there and it be truthful, although Byrne has the cards stacked where Fraud just might be able to go 7-5 with a little luck.
Regarding the schedule, we took a page from the "tech handbook" ... which is pretty low.
I have been on record all season long saying our schedule is a disgrace. Unlike you, who tried to defend Tech last year.
Leach is a clown, and he will be exposed. Outside of last season (aided by a weak schedule) this guy has a fantastic track record of Mediocrity. Conference winning % is just a shade over spike Dykes.

The A&M program has been down for the past few years...no has been more vocal in his criticism than me. If coach Fran doesn't turn it around, he will have failed.
It probably feels the same for me as it does for you that your Basketball Program sucks. A&M is ranked in the top 10 this year...where is Tech?
