Congrats Red Raiders!

The Captain is overcome with emotion right now, and I feel compelled to post a congratulatory message to the all Red Raiders, for the defeat of the (formerly) #1 Texas Longhorns. You are the "Red Faders" no more.

I knew (and have been predicting it all week) that the Longhorns were doomed, entering a night game in Lubbock on Halloween weekend, ranked #1. There was no doubt that Leach would have his Pirates prepared to rape and pillage the inadequate UT defense, and that Jones STD/T&A/STF would be packed to record capacity with rabid, inebriated fans, armed to the hilt with tortillas and duracells, ready to storm the field.

Storm the field they did, a couple of times before the game was even officially over. Seriously though, Leach had this team prepared, and they never gave up. I have witnessed this comeback ability first hand, in RoosterBowl IX, with the Harrell pass to Johnson for the win, but last night rises above anything I've seen in recent history.

Again, I congratulate the Raider Nation on the biggest victory in Tech history, and a well earned #2 ranking, 9 games into the season.

Thanks Joe! I think I woke up my neigbhorhood in that last three minutes! A big thanks to Blake for his calls from the Hub letting me feel just a little of the electricity that lit up Lubbock!

I hope they're already looking ahead to next week and not still chest bumping and high fiving!

i haven't been on roosterbowl.com much this year. The demise of the aggies (and the rise of tech)have made it painful to jump on this site. But today, i give big props to Tech and their fans.

You are still the "Red Faders" and you will still lose to OU and OkiStake and finish 3rd or 4th in the south, but for today...you can celebrate and be proud of yourselves.

You played well and won a great game yesterday.

Sorry, after reading some of blake's insulting posts about the aggies, i just had to be a prick.

when does basketball season start? Does Bobby NIT still coach for Tech?...oh wait, you guys didn't get an invite to the NIT last year...maybe the nickname is outdated.

Truly was a phenomenal game! I bleed orange, but am a fan of the Red Raiders. Not knowing what the remainder of the year has in store, I gracefully accept what has been given this year and will take whatever comes....after all it's just a game.
