Bryan Davis, a 6-9 senior center, followed the footsteps of his uncle/head coach when he signed a letter of intent with Texas A&M on Wednesday.

Davis' uncle, Grand Prairie coach Barry Davis, was an All-Southwest Conference forward at A&M and a 1976 graduate.

Bryan Davis led the Class 5A area last season in rebounds, averaging 12 per game, and scored 15.8 points per game. TexasHoops.com ranks Davis as the state's No. 3 senior.

As a sophomore, Davis was named SportsDay's newcomer of the year when he averaged 10.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks for a team that advanced to a regional tournament for the first time in 24 years.
